Audio Limiter Pro (the Extension) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle data when you use our Chrome extension.
Data Collection
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
What We Store Locally
- Audio Settings: Your preferred audio limiter settings (threshold, attack, release, ratio, gain values).
- Theme Preference: Your selected visual theme.
- Preset Profiles: Custom audio presets you create.
- Extension State: Whether the limiter is enabled or disabled.
How We Use This Data
- Remember your audio processing preferences.
- Maintain extension settings between browser sessions.
- Provide a consistent user experience.
Data Transmission
No data is transmitted to external servers. The Extension:
- Does NOT send any data to our servers or third parties.
- Does NOT track your browsing activity.
- Does NOT collect analytics or usage statistics.
- Does NOT require account creation or login.
Audio Processing
Local Processing Only
- All audio processing happens entirely within your browser: audio from web pages is processed in real-time using the Web Audio API.
- No audio data is recorded, saved, or transmitted.
- Processing stops immediately when you close the tab or disable the extension.
Permissions Explained
The Extension requires the following permissions (used exclusively for audio processing functionality):
storage: Save audio settings and preferences locally.activeTab: Apply audio processing to the currently active tab.scripting: Inject audio processing code into web pages.tabCapture: Capture audio streams from tabs for processing.offscreen: Perform audio processing in a background context.host_permissions: Apply audio processing on all websites you visit.
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Your settings are protected by Chrome’s built-in security measures.
- No data leaves your device.
- You can clear all stored data by uninstalling the Extension.
Children’s Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from children. It is suitable for all ages as it does not collect any personal data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top.
Data Deletion
To delete all data stored by the Extension:
- Right-click the Extension icon
- Select “Remove from Chrome”
- Confirm removal
Alternatively, you can clear extension data through Chrome’s settings:
- Go to
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData - Select “Advanced”
- Check “Site settings” or “Hosted app data”
- Click “Clear data”
